After Apple joined to big league and released two new iPhones with bigger displays, there were a lot of users complaining about the size. Believe it or not, people were absolutely ok with the 4″ display and they wanted it back.
Not everybody loves big screens
And because the Cupertino-based cares about its customers, their wish is going to be granted. According to the folks over DigiTimes, this fall we won’t see just the iPhone 6S, alongside the 6S Plus, but a 4-inch version too, supposedly called iPhone 6C.
Just like you, we also wondered why on Earth would Apple like to bring back the infamous C model, as everybody knows that the iPhone 5C was what we call a big fail. Still, maybe they have learned something from this and the 6C will be something different. And by different we mean it won’t have a plastic body, since it will be totally against Apple’s policy of releasing premium devices.
No A9 for you, Mr. 6C
Most sources are indeed claiming that the iPhone 6C will sport a 4″ display, so what we expect to see is basically a shrunken iPhone 6. Yes, iPhone 6, as it will most likely be powered by the same A8 chip currently used by Apple’s two handsets, while the 6S and 6S Plus will be relying on the new A9 model.
Besides the chipset and the size of the display (probably RAM too), there won’t be any differences between the devices, as all three of them will be equipped with LTPS panels, protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass. NFC will also be present, alongside fingerprint scanners, enabling Apple Pay.
Of course, there’s nothing official from Apple regarding this, so our recommendation would be to take everything with a pinch of salt, at least until we will hear more details about this topic.
Would you buy a 4-inch iPhone 6C?
