It seems that metal is the material of choice for tech manufacturers lately, as more and more of them are using it. If metallic smartphones are already yesterday’s news, metallic wearables are getting very popular. We’ve seen the excellent Pebble Steel, the Apple Watch and the metallic version of Moto 360 and we were really impressed. At CES 2015, it’s time for a new wearable to get a metallic update: check out the Sony SmartWatch 3 Steel.
Perfect for every occasion
Personally, I consider this as a natural move, since all smartwatch manufacturers should consider making their wearable devices look like…well, normal watches, so you can match them with any outfit. I mean, let’s say you’re a tech enthusiasts and you need to wear a suit, but you can’t let your smartwatch at home. This is where the Sony SmartWatch 3 Steel comes in, completing your look.
As for the differences from the previous model, there aren’t any, except the rubber strap that has been replace. And speaking about straps, you can easily pop out the main module and turn the Sony SmartWatch 3 Steel into a regular one, that’s why we still consider this Android Wear device one of the best smartwatches for fitness.
Smoother, but pricey
Like TechRadar states, the only disadvantage of this new model from Sony is that is going to be a bit more expensive than the rubber option, but being the only Android Wear model with GPS should be a pretty solid argument if you’re looking for a new smartwatch.
The Sony SmartWatch 3 Steel should be available in February, so you should start saving if you’re fancying one. Do you think it will be received better than the rubber model?
