If until now a sapphire crystal display on the upcoming iPhone 6 was just a rumors, we finally had the chance to see it. No, we don’t have any iPhone, but we saw a video which was enough to make a first impression about one of the most awesome features of this device.
YouTube tech reviewer Marques Brownlee got his hands on the 4.7″ display, claiming to have it directly from the assembling line. And what do you do when you obtain something that claims to be very resistant? You try to break it, of course.
The sapphire crystal display made it through the scratch test, as not even stabbing it with a knife or the impact with a bunch of keys didn’t left any marks on the panel. And we do know that keys are one of a screen’s biggest nightmares!
So, if it can’t be scratched, maybe it can be broken. No, not at all. Marques Brownlee even stepped on the display and tried to break it into piese. Again, not a chance. But enough with the descriptions, take a look for yourselves:
After seeing us, there’s one big questions. If this part turns out to be genuine, what will happen with screen protectors manufacturers? Basically, it would be totally unecessary to apply one, so they should be starting to reconsider their options…
We’re not going to ask what do you think, because this is definitely one awesome feature of the iPhone 6. Still, it’s clear that Apple won’t be selling this cheap…
