After taking the market by storm with a couple of top notch devices, available at pocket-friendly prices, the Chinese manufacturer is getting ready to release a new flagship, which could be introduced at Xiaomi Mi 5.
Coming in Q4
Currently, we don’t know a lot of details about the handset, which is expected to make its debut in the fourth quarter of 2015, according to Phone Arena. Still, it seems that the company applied for a fingerprint scanner patent.
None of the manufacturer’s models currently sports this, so by obtaining this patent for the Xiaomi Mi 5, they won’t have to license the technology from a third party.
If this turns up to be true, the Xiaomi Mi 5 will join a very select club, alongside devices from Apple or Samsung. The scanner will be able to collect information about the user, in order to use it with fitness-related apps.
Almost top-notch, almost…
As for the rest of the specs, the phone is expected to come with a 5.2″ display, with a QHD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, resulting in a density of 565 ppi. Also, despite that fact that we’re looking forward to seeing at least a Snapdragon 810 under the hood, Xiaomi will opt for the 805, with a quad-core configuration, clocked at 2.7 GHz, alongside 3 GB of RAM and the Adreno 420 GPU.
The internal storage capacity should count 16 or 64 GB, while on the back, the Xiaomi Mi 5 will feature a 16 MP camera which will team up with the front-facing 8 MP snapper. Finally, the battery will have a capacity of 3600 mAh.
These is everything we know about the Xiaomi Mi 5, but we’re still very curious about the price! If the manufacturer will make it available at a very good price, like we’re used, we don’t see why this phone won’t be another hit!
