If Apple will indeed follow the naming convention used in the last years, we’re going to see the iPhone 6S this fall, and not the 7, as some rumors were pointing to. But no matter what name the manufacturer will opt for, it will definitely come with some serious improvement, according to analysts.
‘Revolutionary’ features are expected!
Mr. Ming-Chi Kuo, from KGI Securities, claims that the handset, which will most likely make its debut this September, will sport the Force Touch feature, also seen on the Apple Watch. The technology behind it monitors the area on which your finger touches the screen and determines how much pressure you’re applying, according to CNET. Looking forward to seeing new apps based on this!
Besides this new feature, the iPhone 6S will be powered by Apple’s new A9 chipset, which will provide even more power and processing speed than the current model, A8, used by the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.
The amount of RAM will also get an upgrade, from just 1 GB to 2 GB. Before comparing this with high-end Android phones, remember that iOS is differently optimized, so 1 GB of RAM turned out to be perfect in order to work smoothly.
Will it be equipped with the mysterious, whole new camera?
Moving on, the camera will get a megapixel bump too, as a 16 MP sensor is expected to be mounted on the back. This is another aspect we’re very curious about, as the iPhone 6S is rumored to come with a whole new camera technology, about which we don’t know many details currently.
Finally, the Touch ID sensor will be even more accurate, while the handset itself should be available in one new color, Rose Gold, seen on Apple’s smartwatch.
Of course, the iPhone 6S could sport even more new features, but for the moment, this is everything we know related to this topic.
