The first devices sporting the Snapdragon 810, released!

Last updated on January 7, 2017 By Andrei Klein Leave a Comment

One of the most expected devices of 2015 is..well, the first smartphone equipped with Qualcomm’s Amazing Snapdragon 810 chipset, with its 64-bit octa-core CPU and the new Adreno 430 GPU, alongside the Hexagon V56 digital signal processor. There’s no doubt that whoever will make the first device using it, it will definitely a real beast in terms of processing power!

Until then, Qualcomm has just released its Mobile Development Platform smartphone and tablet designs, based on the Snapdragon 810, especially for developers who want to build apps based on them or even test their products, according to Android Central.

The future is bright!

The phone also comes with a 6.2″ QHD display, 4 GB of RAM, while the storage counts 32 gigs. On the back, it has a 13 MP sensor with optical image stabilization, while the selfie-unit has 4 MP. The whole thing is powered by a 3020 mAh battery.

If this is how most flagships will look like in 2015, then it’s definitely going to be a very good year for smartphones!

Moving on to the tablet, it has a 10.1″ display, with a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels, being the first commercially available Android tablet with a Ultra HD 4K display. Under the hood it’s loaded with the same 4 GB of RAM, being powered by a huge 7560 mAh battery.

Impressive power comes at impressive prices

If you’re somehow hoping to get your hands on one of these Snapdragon 810-powered babies, we have some bad news for you. First of all, they will have some not-so-friendly prices: $799 for the smartphone and $999 for the slate. Also, they’re available only for qualified developers, so don’t think about saving some money. Still, don’t worry, as it won’t be too much until manufacturers will actually start revealing devices with these specs.

CES 2015 is less than two months away, so who knows, maybe we will at least see these mobile development platforms in action!

Which manufacturer do you think it will be the first to equip a smartphone or a tablet with the Snapdragon 810?
