We know that a QHD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels is impressive for a smartphone, especially for one measuring around 5 inches, as the density is amazing, not to mention the quality of the images. It’s true, some people are still considering ridiculous, as you can’t actually make the difference between QHD and full HD that easy, but hey, the more pixels, the merrier…
More than QHD?
But what if we told you that Sharp is planning to release the first 4K display in less than two years? The resolution could be 3840 x 2160 or 4096 x 2160, as both are 4K, but the latter has the more chances of becoming reality, since phone screens come with a 16:9 aspect ration. Oh, and if you’re interest, that should result in over 8.8 million pixels on your future smartphone’s display, according to GSMArena.
According to the same source, the rumors are pointing to a size between 5 and 6 inches, which seems to be the standard for today’s high end smartphones, most of them using LCD panels made by Sharp.
Poor batteries…
This will be very interesting to see, but it will be even more interesting to see how the batteries will handle so much pixels, as a display is one of the biggest energy drainer in a smartphone. Come on, Sharp, let’s see what you got!
