Runtastic Moment Smartwatch, a threat for the giants?

Last updated on January 7, 2017 By Andrei Klein Leave a Comment

When you say “Runtastic“, everybody thinks about one of the best fitness apps ever made, but it seems that the company, recently acquired by Adidas for $240, is trying to expand their portfolio by joining the wearable market.

Is this an actual smartwatch?!

Their first wearable, Runtastic Moment Smartwatch, was introduced yesterday and, at a first look, it doesn’t look like your average fitness tracker at all! On the contrary, it’s a really elegant piece of technology. See for yourselves:

Yes, unlike most of its competitors, the Runtastic Moment Smartwatch doesn’t have a touchscreen, looking more like a regular analog watch. Still, it has enough technology under the hood to allow it to track your fitness.

The casing is built out of stainless steel and it features a scratch-resistant glass. According to Tech Times, it measures 37 or 46 mm in diameter and it comes in four collections, each of them with slightly distinctive style and colors.

But we bet that you’re curious to find out what the Runtastic Moment Smartwatch can actually do, right?

Like the app it shares the name with, it can track your sleep, steps, distance and of course, burned calories. You can also set and reach goals and monitor your daily progress, as it can save the user’s data for seven consecutive days. Finally, the LED notification light is a very nice touch, so you wont miss anything.

That what we call a long battery life!

Finally, another aspect which differentiates the Runtastic Moment Smartwatch from the rest of the models is the impressive battery life. It can function for 6 months, so you can even forget about charging it for a very long time.

In order to enjoy its full features, you need to connect it to a smartphone, over Bluetooth and sync it with the Runtastic Me app.

The Runtastic Moment Smartwatch has a starting price of $130, for the Basic version and it can reach $180, for the Elite and Classic versions.
