Things to know before you use Gecko iPhone Toolkit

With Gecko iPhone toolkit you can restore your iPhone passcode without needing to reset and restore your data using iTunes.  It reads your Passcode information page and shows it in its dialog box.  From there you can locate your passcode right in front of you on the screen.  However, though Gecko iPhone toolkit sounds like a great relief, it may not be for every iOS device user.

The Gecko iPhone toolkit supports iPhone 3Gs, iPhone 4, iPad 1, iPod Touch 3G, iPod touch 4G and later. You can use Gecko iPhone toolkit to restore iPhone passcode for iOS 4.0 to 6.0.

Also, if you’ve set your passcode with numbers only, then Gecko iPhone toolkit will definitely work for you.  However, if you’ve set a complex passcode with at least one letter, Gecko iPhone toolkit will not be able to read it. That is why users are always encouraged to use combinations of letters and numbers for their passcode.

If you can’t restore iPhone passcode using Gecko iPhone toolkit, then it’s pertinent that a hacker can’t either.  This is all the more reason to make a strong passcode.  In such an event you have no option but to use iTunes and perform a complete system restore.  But if you choose a strong passcode for your iPhone, make sure to keep a periodic back up of your iPhone with iTunes.  You’ll need to have a backup to restore your device if you use iTunes for resetting passcode.
