Google just introduced a pretty nice feature for Google Play, which every mobile fan will find really interesting. We’re talking about a pre-registering system, which you can use in order to be between the first ones who find out when a new app will be available.
Stay updated with the latest apps!
Currently, there are a few apps in the store which, after searching for them, are listed as “Coming Soon”. Basically, instead of the buying or downloading them, they’re sporting a “Pre Register” button.
According to Android Headlines, tapping the button will display a message like “You’ve pre-registered for <<app name>>. You’ll be notified when the app is released. Share the news with your friends”, while a share button will also come up.
Ok, so everything sounds great until now, especially if you’re really looking forward to trying some apps which are still not available, but this new Google Play feature also has a big downside: it doesn’t tell when the app will be released.
Yeah, basically, everything that the new Pre-Register button does is to set an alert and let you know when the app you’re waiting for hits Google Play.
A great marketing tool!
Of course, it’s a no-brainer that this is just a strategy of making users download more apps from Google Play and it will definitely become a great feature of promoting highly anticipated titles.
What do you think about this new Google Play feature? Anybody around here who already pre-registered for some games or other apps?
