Pebble Watch, still one of the best smartwatches on the market?

Last updated on January 7, 2017 By Andrei Klein Leave a Comment

It’s true, we have some pretty amazing smartwatches on the market right now, most of them running Android Wear. Still, sometimes simplicity is key, that’s why one of the most successful Kickstarter projects ever, the Pebble Watch, is still one of the top smartwatches of the moment.

Compared to other newer models, it comes with a black and white e-paper display, alongside a magnetometer, accelerometer and light sensors. As for its features, it shows your notifications, text messages, incoming calls or emails. Ok, but what makes such a simple smartwatch an option worth considering?

It’s customizable! The Pebble Watch comes with a great ecosystem of watch faces, with tons of colors available. Also, right now, the number of Pebbe smartwatch apps is over 1000, including some really nice utilities, like the Misfit fitness tracking apps. Oh, and this baby can last for a whole week on a single charge, so you won’t need to add a “charge watch” item on your daily checklist.

Unlike the Android Wear devices, this one is one of the few iPhone compatible smartwatches, so for an iOS user who is looking just for the basic functions in a smartwatch, Pebble might have what they are looking for! Now you might say that we’ve reached a level where a touchscreen is a must and buttons are already outdated. but like mentioned above, it’s the best smartwatch for anybody who is looking just for the basics.

If you ask us, one of the most important features of the Pebble Watch is that overall, it’s still a watch, while the ‘smart’ function is left on the second plan. And in these days, when technology is everywhere, it’s very important to avoid being distracted by that little device on your wrist every few minutes.
