The truth is that Apple disappointed people from all around the world when it released the iPhone 6 together with the iPhone 6 Plus and we noticed that the two devices did not have sapphire screens as rumoured.
According to a couple of reports, it seems like the reason may have been related to the high costs of production, but also to the fact that Apple didn’t really have a good place to make the sapphire screens. Well, it seems like this is about to change, as Foxconn, the company which is also in charge with building most of Apple’s products has announced that it is ready to launch a $2.6 billion facility which will be opened in central China quite soon. This panel will most probably deal with creating a lot of devices, but it will also have a place especially made to build Apple sapphire screens.
Leaving aside the fact that this is great news, a new Foxconn panel also means that Apple may be able to expand its production rates, thus ensuring that future devices will be available in shops from all around the world sooner. The reports also points over to the idea that the next iPhone and maybe even iPad will come with a sapphire screen, which is great news, as these screens are extremely resistant from all the points of view, while also being great to look at.
What do you think about this rumour? Will Apple include a sapphire screen with their next generation iPhone?
