Users of iPhone and iPad may not realize the importance of Power button that much because we usually use it to switch off and turn on the phone. But if the Power button gets damaged, then you will not be able to switch off and turn on your iPhone.

How to switch off and turn on your iPhone or iPad if the Power button is damaged

There are several reasons for damaging the Power button such as dust, humidity with external factor and these things can stop the Power button working. If this type of situation happens with your iPhone or iPad, then it’s a matter to concern as you will not be able to turn on and off your phone.

But some ways are there following which you can switch off the iPhone without using the Power button. Following are the steps for that:

> Go to Settings on your iPhone or iPad.

> Go to General, then Accessibility.

> Scroll the screen down and go to Interaction section. Now tap on AssistiveTouch.

> Toggle the AssistiveTouch on the next screen to the green On position.

> You will see a circle in white color with a grey box on screen. In order to expand it, tap the circle, it will be big box on screen.

> Touch Device.

> Tap the Lock screen and keep holding until you see a red and white power icon on the screen with written “Slide to power off” next to it.

> If you want to turn off your iPhone, you have to slide the power icon to the right.

Following the above steps you can turn off the device, now what is the way to turn it on? Well, for that you have to charge the phone. Connect it to a USB port on your computer or a power socket. When the apple logo appears, you can remove the charger. It will take only few seconds.
