As there is no option for microSD card on iPhone, so space shortage could be an important issue if you use an iPhone that has internal storage of 8GB or 16GB. If you do not want to spend extra dollars to get space on iCloud, some ways are there to follow for space saving on iOS devices.
Step 1: First of all you need to find out the culprits, means who are taking up more space on your iPhone. To see that, go to Settings > General > Usage, then tap on Manage Storage which you will find under Storage. A list of apps will appear showing what is taking the most space.
For most people, it is Photos and Camera app that takes more space because of the videos and photos that are saved. Also check the other apps that are taking more space on your iPhone. If you do not want to delete those apps, you can reduce the space that they are using.
Step 2: Delete the apps that you do not use. Some apps are there that you do not use. If it’s more than a year that you are not using them, then it’s time to delete those. You can get them back again from the “purchased” section of the App Store and you do not require paying for it again.
To delete an app, from the Manage Storage screen, tap that particular app and then “Delete App”.
Step 3: If you do not want to delete the apps, the options are there to slim the apps down. For example, if a video has been downloaded in BBC iPlayer but that is not deleted yet, then it will take more space. Some photo-editing apps are there that store the photos within them though the same photos are saved in Camera Roll. So you should delete those photos.
Voice memo is another app that takes more space. You can also delete books from iBooks if you have read it. The book can be re-downloaded again if you want to read it. Messages also take some space, then photos and videos, so some videos you can delete.
