How to extract Audio from YouTube Videos and save it on iPhone

Last updated on January 7, 2017 By Alihassan Mahdi Leave a Comment

YouTube is one of the most popular video sharing site and has been attracting more and more users everyday. One of the greatest limitations of YouTube is that you can’t download videos or even audios directly from the YouTube app on your iOS device unless you’re using a third-party app that allows you to download videos. To help you overcome this problem, YoutubeToMp3 is a jailbreak tweak that has been recently updated to support iOS 7 devices.

With this tweak, users will have the ability to extract audios from videos and download it directly to their iOS device without the hassle of a third-party app. You can also import the audios downloaded directly to the stock Music app without doing it from iTunes. This is one of the great advantages that YoutubeToMp3 offers.

Once you install the tweak, an application will be added to your Home screen dedicated to YoutubeToMp3. Once you open it, you can search any kind of video that is on YouTube from the app. After you’ve found a video, tapping on it will bring up 3 options to choose from: “Convert to MP3”, “Preview (Direct)” and “Preview (Proxy)”.

Choosing the “Convert to MP3” will start converting the video to MP3 and download its audio. Once it has been downloaded, you can play it directly from the app but as mentioned earlier, you can also import any audio into the stock Music app. To do so, tap on the three dots (…) button next to an audio that has been download and choose “add to iPod”.

The next option is “Preview (Direct)” which displays the video directly in the app and the last option allows you to view videos in a country that blocks YouTube.

YoutubeToMp3 is quite a useful tweak if you want to download YouTube audios directly on your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch without using iTunes or third-party apps. Yet, the most important feature of this tweak is that you can easily import downloaded audios to the stock Music app without any hassle.

If you’re interested to give YoutubeToMp3 a try, you can download it from Cydia at absolutely no cost.
