Google says that it still will launch smart glasses but it will not produce glasses in the present form. That means soon we are going to see the new form for Google Glass. Well, Google also says that it will now focus on the future versions of the smart glass.

The Explorer programme that gave the chance to buy Glass for $1, 500 to software developers, will close. The program was launched in 2013 in the United States. Later it was available for everyone and in the last summer, it was launched in UK.

Google halted the sale of Google Glass, but the product is not dead

The search firm is not going to take orders anymore for this product from the next week but it says that it will always provide supports to the companies that are now using Glass.

The Glass team was working with Google X which is engaged in research “Blue Sky”. Now Glass team will become a separate undertaking by moving out from the Google X division. And Ivy Ross is the current manager of this job.

The Glass team and the manager Ivy Ross will now report everything to Tony Fadell, chief executive of Nest, the home automation business which Google acquired one year ago. He said that the project will allow them to learn what consumers want and he also expressed that he is excited to working with the team and thus he can put together the learning in the future products.

Google says that it will work on the future version of the product but did not mention any time for the launch of the new version.

At the beginning consumers were very happy with the Google glass because of its features of taking photos, videos and directions. But later they were little unhappy because they were not getting all the facilities that had been said. Also some restaurants and bars were not allowing customers to wear smart glasses inside their premises because of privacy and safety.

However, Google team now will continue its work and Tony Fadell will oversee the future version of the product.
