It has a few weeks on the market and it’s already one of the most appreciated smartphones of the year. We’re talking about the Motorola-made Nexus 6, which took everybody by surprise, being released with a huge 6″ display, way more than we imagined, even though, considering the naming policy used for previous models, it totally makes sense.
For those of you who consider its size as a big no-no, we have a short list which should convince you what a great phone is, so here it goes: the top 5 reasons why you should buy a Nexus 6!
Stock Android: While most smartphones are running on an Android version, customized with the manufacturer’s user interface and loaded with bloatware, the Nexus 6 is the most representative phone when it comes to an unaltered operating system. It comes with pure Android 5.0 Lollipop, just as it was made by Google, being a delight for the fans.
Priority in receiving updates: Another big advantage of this phone is that it’s the first one in line to receive the latest Android updates. Considering that users experienced pretty serious delays in getting Android 5.0 this year, having a Nexus guarantees that you are between the first ones to experience the new features brought by an eventual operating system update.
Top specs: The Nexus 6 is loaded with basically the best hardware available for mass-production devices right now: the snapdragon 805 CPU, with a quad-core Krait 450 CPU, clocked at 2.7 GHz, 3 GB of RAM and the Adreno 420 GPU. There’s no microSD card slot, but it’s available in two versions, with 32 or 64 gigs of internal storage, which should be more than enough for storing all your stuff. Also, even though there are better ones on the market, the 13 MP rear camera, with optical image stabilization, and the front 2 MP snapper should also be mentioned, as they’re more than decent!
Turbo Charging mode: An awesome feature, perfect for those who are in a hurry and need to give their battery a quick boost. Seen first on the 2014 version of the Moto X, this technology, powered by Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 2.0 allows you to get up to 6 hours of battery life after just 15 minutes in which your phone is plugged in to a power outlet. Since the 3220 mAh battery will get you over 24 hours of use from a full charge, some basic math reveals that your Nexus 6 will be fully charged in about an hour , which is absolutely great.
The display: Yes, even though it’s bigger, the 5.96 inch display, with a qHD resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels can be one of the biggest attraction points of the Nexus 6. It is known that the trend is to release smartphones with displays as big as possible, in order to enjoy internet browsing, media or gaming at their fullest and this baby is the perfect example of a big phone. Protected with Gorilla Glass 3 and using an AMOLED panel will definitely deliver some really bright and crisp images.
So, are you now convinced that the Nexus 6 is a great deal? Now, Google Play a visit and get one!
