DJI Osmo is a $650 4K steadicam for iPhones

The folks over DJI made a name for themselves through their amazing drones, used by aerial photography fans all over the world. Now, they’re targeting another market, with the DJI Osmo, a 4K camera and handheld 3-axis stabilizer combo, allowing the users to connect it to iPhones, for top notch control and footage capabilities.

No more shaky and blurry iPhone videos

According to The Market Business, the device uses DJI three-axis gimbal stabilization technology, found on their Phantom drones. It’s great for eliminating the shaking seen on footage taken with handheld cameras.

With a price tag of $650, the DJI Osmo promises to deliver super smooth footage, at 4K quality, thanks to the 12 MP camera, with a 1/2.3″ sensor and 94-degree field-of-view lens, according to the same source.

As you can see, the phone mounts on the side of the gimbal, so you can adjust it for viewing it from different angles, not to mentions that it offers various ways of holding the camera.

Multiple shooting modes are available

Like mentioned above, you can connect the DJI Osmo to your iPhone and, using the DJI Go app, you can view live images from the camera. Besides this, you can adjust the settings and control the shooting functions.

For example, you can opt for panoramic images, long exposure pictures, or even 1080p slow-mo videos, at 120 frames per second. And yes, the image quality will be excellent!

DJI ofers a wide array of accessories for the Osmo, like tripods, various mounts and an extension arms, for those moments when you want to use it in very difficult angles and positions.

The DJI Osmo will be available starting with October 15. Also, a camera-less model will be available, so you can use a model of your choice, like a GoPro or something even more performant.

Would you buy it?
