A few months ago we were talking about a new exclusive smartphone, the BlackBerry Porsche Design P’9983, which was leaked, revealing a premium and exclusive design, making us think a bit about its price. Yesteday, it was officially announced by the Canadian manufacturer and, if you ignore the design, there’s pretty much nothing special about it…
But before getting to the design, let’s see what powers this thing. The BlackBerry Porsche Design P’9983 is using a Snapdragon S4 Plus chipset, with a dual-core CPU, clocked at 1.5 GHz, alongside an Adreno 225 GPU. It’s running on BB OS 10.3, while a 2,100 mAh battery makes sure it can go through a day of usage.
Anyway, this is not important, as the phone is definitely a fashion statement, thanks to its carbon fiber back cover with a “special glass-weave technology”, sapphire glass for the camera lens and, most important, forged stainless steel for the chassis.
And it doesn’t end here, as you will be able to buy custom back covers, made from different materials, including leather.
The BlackBerry Porsche Design P’9983 will be available starting from October, but we don’t know anything about the price. Still, don’t expect this to be cheap, as, like the previous generations, it will most likely have the price tag of a couple of brand new iPhones…
