Apple is making its way nicely across China, penetrating what once known as an impenetrable market at a stunning speed. Apple’s marketing strategy in China is even more elaborate than what the company is implementing across the globe, so it is always interesting to see the latest and greatest happening in this country. The latest move: a new store that is superbly beautiful.
Scheduled to open on January 31st, 2015, the new Apple store is situated in Chongqing, a large city in the Southwest region of China. It has the signature cylindrical glass entrance. Some say the new store is even more beautiful than the one in Shanghai; I’m going to have to agree.
The new store features a gorgeous rural designed and made by Yangyang Pan, in collaboration with photographer and engineer Navid Baraty. Don’t take my word for it; you need to see it directly to truly appreciate its beauty. The rural itself features a cityscape drawn in a peculiar way that it looks gorgeous under different lights.
The shape of the entrance itself is beautiful and has been seen across newer Apple stores. It is a shape based on the high-profile design that Steve Jobs and many other Apple inventors patented a few years ago. It screams Apple the moment you see it and the gorgeous rural simply makes it even more breath taking.
Apple Online Store is already growing rapidly, and their offline presence will turn China into one gigantic market. The latest report said that China is ready to overtake America in iPhone sales, which won’t be really considered a surprise based on the amount of devices that are purchased from there on an yearly basis, but also due to the fact that China is also home to Earth’s biggest population.
What do you personally think about the new Apple Store over in China? I think that it’s quite an achievement, based on the idea that 4 years ago, they only had one store, in central Beijing and a couple of ‘fake’ authorized resellers.
