There have been a lot of rumors about the 12.2″ iPad Plus until now, but we haven’t seen any leak detailed enough so we can at least hope that we’ll see the biggest Apple tablet released somewhere in the future.
The biggest iPad yet!
Still, things are getting a bit interesting, as the first pictures with what seems to be the tablet’s case were leaked, thanks to a Chinese company that produces iPad accessories!
According to French site NoWhereElse, this is definitely the big iPad Plus, as the image depicts the larger case alongside a model for the iPad Air 2. We can observe the same placement of the camera, volume and stand-by buttons, so it’s very likely that this case is made for the 12.2″ tablet. And yes, it’s going to be called ‘Plus’, following the same naming strategy Apple started with their latest smartphone duo, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
As for the specs, we don’t know very much about the iPad Plus, but there were some sources pointing to four speakers, two on top and two on the bottom. Also, we don’t exclude the possibility of seeing a stylus especially made from this tablet.
It should be powered by a triple-core A8X or A9 chipset, alongside 2 GB of RAM. The Touch ID will also be present and, hopefully, it will sport a Retina display too.
The launch date, still a mystery
Apple doesn’t have any special event scheduled for the following months – at least that’s what we know – so it’s very hard to tell when the iPad Plus could make its debut. Of course, there’s the Worldwide Developer Conference coming relatively soon, but this event is mostly focused on software, so there are small chances of finding out more details about the tablet.
Keep an eye on our blog, as we will be back with more details on this topic as soon as they will be available.
