The Cupertino-based manufacturer’s first wearable, Apple Watch, has some time on the market and the opinions regarding this interesting device were mixed. A lot of fans and not only quickly bought it, but it seemed like something was missing: a dedicated Apple Watch charging dock. Everything option you had was basically a third-party stand. And we all like OEM accessories, right?
Looks good, but that price tag…
A few days ago, the first images with the dock started leaking and initially, we believed that we would see it somewhere around Christmas, but Apple was quicker than we thought.
Currently available for $79, the Apple Watch charging dock is definitely a stylish accessory, allowing you to charge your smartwatch in two different ways. You can opt for the traditional method, seen at smartphones, placing the watch flat, on top of the dock and the band undone, or wrap it around and change to Nightstand mode.
In the package, besides the Apple Watch charging dock, you will also receive a lightning to USB cable, but you’re still going to use the USB power adapter from the watch, in order to connect it to a wall outlet.
If you’re fancying this accessory, you can already order one online today or wait until November 20th and get one from your local Apple store. Of course, this if you can get over the price.
Will users buy this accessory?
At $79, the Apple Watch charging dock is pretty expensive, not to mention that it the cable included in the package gets lost or doesn’t work anymore, a new one will cost $29. More and more tech fans claim that the price for Apple accessories is getting out of control and if we look at the $99 Pencil, we can only agree with them.
What are your thoughts on this dock? Would you buy one for your Apple Watch?
